ORIGINS OF THE AIQ
The Italian Quidditch Association is an amateur sports association founded in Monza (MB) on 10 October 2013 with the aim of promoting and developing sporting activities related to quidditch.
Its founding members, as well as members of the first AIQ Board of Directors in office for the two-year period 2013-2015, are: Michele Clabassi (President), Gianluca Tenzone (Vice-President), Andrea Miglietta (Secretary), Velia Cavallini (Treasurer), Dario Donnarumma (Councilor) and Saverio Covello (Councilor).
The goals of the AIQ can be summed up in three simple words, coined by the International Quidditch Association: COMPETITION, COMMUNITY, and CREATIVITY.
The AIQ is committed to developing the sport of quidditch in Italy by promoting an inclusive and open culture, organizing official competitions (Quidditch League), supporting emerging teams, collaborating with external organizations, and selecting staff and players for the Italian National Quidditch Team.
All this always in an atmosphere of sporting culture based on mutual respect and teamwork.
STRUCTURE
As a democratic body, the Italian Quidditch Association ASD is based on the Assembly of all AIQ Members, convened at least once a year, which deals with:
– elect the Board of Directors every two years;
– approve the annual financial statement;
– make changes to the Association Statute;
– decide to cease the Association's activities;
The Board of Directors is composed of 3 to 7 members. It meets monthly and is responsible for the general management of the Association, performing tasks such as:
– election of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Councilors from among its members;
– publication of the association's internal regulations;
– management of new member registration requests;
– approval of the Association's socio-cultural program;
– annual preparation of the economic-financial report;
– management of the Association's financial aspects and human resources;
– decides on the convocation of the shareholders' meeting;
The President is the legal representative of the Association and oversees compliance with the provisions of the various association bodies and the bylaws. The Vice President assists him and replaces him in his absence. The Secretary drafts the minutes of the meetings, the Treasurer manages the association's financial situation, and the Directors may perform various tasks and play an active role in the decisions of the Board of Directors.
